幻想三國誌4 繪圖流程(WIP)

 
這張圖是幫台灣宇峻奧汀公司的遊戲幻想三國誌4所繪製的遊戲宣傳圖。由於遊戲時空背景在中國古代,所以服裝設計上帶有濃濃的中國色彩。而兩位角色的武器,毛筆和古琴,更是造形重點,因此我也花了較多時間在武器的造型設計上。
The drawing was made to promote the computer game Fantasia Sango IV by UserJoy Technology Co., a Taiwanese game development company. Since the game is set in Three Kingdom Period, the costumes have an ancient Chinese style, which is emphasized by the writing brush and guqin (ancient Chinese string instrument). I also paid careful attention on the design of the weapons.

  
 
第一步先將線稿畫出,精確的線稿可以避免上色時不斷修正造型的困擾。
First step is to compose a contour drawing. A detailed and well-done contour drawing can successfully minimize the need of revision when coloring at a later stage.
 
 
我使用大量的水墨素材當背景。其中最中要的是分隔兩人的S形線條,我用毛筆在宣紙上畫了許多次”S”線條,並在當中選出最適合使用的。
For the ink and wash painting materials used in the background, the S-shaped line dividing the characters renders the most important. To make the perfect S-line, I drew many S’s with writing brush on India paper and picked the one that fits the best.
 
 
將水墨掃描到電腦中做合成處理。這時候也將想要的整體氣氛色調營造出來。
After scanning the hand-made S-line and compose into the graph, I started to work on the color setting to create an overall impression of the graph.
 
 
接著將人物的立體感畫出,而為了力求光影效果的寫實。我會把自己當作模特兒,並拍下照片,作為光影參考的依據。
The next step is to bring out the sense of three-dimensional space in the drawing. I often take pictures of myself posing as the characters and observe accordingly in order to better visualize the light logic.
  

開始做配色的動作,將人物、服裝和配件的顏色加上去。兩人的服裝一位是紫色系,另一位是青色系,由於是對比色調,所以搭配在一起會讓整體畫面呈現活潑的感覺。
Now is time for color matching, which is adding colors to the characters and costumes. The costume color sets of the two main characters—purple and yellow—are of complementary colors, making the drawing more vivid.
  
 
將畫面的彩度和明度對比再次加強。
Adjust the Chroma, Value, and contrast.
  
 
開始刻畫臉部及頭髮細節,並將白色毛皮提亮,衣服的彩度提高。
Work on details such as facial features and hair. Also adjust the Chroma of the white leather and the tint of the clothes.
  
 
刻畫服裝和配件時要注意質感的不同,毛皮和衣服是柔軟的,所以線條和色彩的變化要柔和一點;相反的,用強烈的明暗對比和清晰的筆觸,可以表現出堅硬的金屬質感。
It is important to note the difference in material properties of the costumes and accessories. Leather and clothes carry a soft tone, which can be descried with a gentler change in line quality and color. Metals, on the other hand, can be portrayed with a strong contrast in light and clear, solid lines.
    
 
將毛皮的部分再提亮。為了增加畫面的趣味性,我將一些墨點改畫成飛鳥,飛鳥的大小也暗示出了背景的空間感。
Adjust the Lighting of the white leather again. For a playful twist, I changed some ink spots to flying birds. The sizes of the birds also suggest a sense of three-dimensional space in the background.
  
 
再一次加強毛皮和衣物的亮面,並在後方人物褲子上加上螺旋花紋,以增加人物下半部的豐富感。並將背景做局部提亮,來襯托人物的主體性。
Again, the light of the leather and clothes are adjusted. Also, I added spiral pattern onto the pants of the character in the back. The spiral pattern increases the fullness of the bottom half of that character. Lighting in some part of the background was also adjusted to further emphasize the characters.
  
 
在前方人物褲子上畫上龍紋,並做最後的提亮動作,這張作品就完成了。
Add dragon pattern to the pants of the front character. After a final adjust to the Lighting, the drawing is finished and ready to be published.
